Grand Master Sang Chel Chung
8th Dan (8th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do)
After completing the Technical Instructor course, he served as a martial arts instructor in the Korean Marine Corps for three years. Following that he became an instructor on the Korean Police Force. Master Chung is an 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do. He has 30 years of experience in both and has been a top Master Instructor for 25 years. He has given many demonstrations in and has taught self-defense classes to adults and students at colleges, high schools, and grammar schools.
Chung's Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do Academy has been located at 6719 N. Northwest Highway, Chicago, IL, 60631 since 1982. The Academy is a member in good standing of the World Tae Kwon Do Federation and the United States of America Tae Kwon Do Union (which is a member of the Olympic Committee). The Academy is also a member of the Pan American Moo Duk Kwon and the World Ko Am Mu Do Federation.
Master Chung spends many hours on research in order to present as much information to his students as possible. He lives by the philosophies of Tae Kwon Do and his goal is to improve society by rebuilding, enhancing, and strengthening the individual's character.
